and I can't figure out what's different between them. I have the thumbnail button checked both in the preferences and when I save as, but the file remains blank (only sometimes) in my Canto library. Is there some way to add a thumbnail to a template file?
I figured it out on my own and do I feel embarassed. The only reason no thumbnail showed on the blank templates, was that they were blank. When I added content to the first page and resaved the thumbnail populated. For reasons unknown to me Canto didn't place an outline on the blank page, but one shows up on the page with content. That made it look like there was nothing there. So, pro-tip, when importing .indt files to Canto make sure you have content on the page if you want to see the thumbnai
