I'm working on a interactive PDF that is built like a website using navigation bar on all pages. The PDF currently contains 25 .SWF files ( about 10 Mb each), 60 small MP4 files ( 2.5 Mb each) and 10 large MP4 files (350 Mb each) not including regular images that I have down-sampled. A total of 125 pages --- but needs to add another 50.

After adding the 10th video, InDesign has failed in exporting the interactive PDF. If I delete that video or another, it will export fine. I have increased my virtual memory to max 30,000. Is there a max on the PDF file size that InDesign can export? My previous successful PDF exported at a file size a little over 2 Gig.

Everyone likes the design and how the PDF works like a website because with all the videos and slideshow. They also like that it is self contained. They would like to build on and add more pages to the 125 pages I have going already. My issue is that I can't seem successfully export a PDF when I added extra video or pages. I need help. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Bruce

Maybe something a little less ambitious and use InDesign‘s Publish Online or, alternatively, consider using in5 Export HTML5 from InDesign with in5 - Home

SWF is DEAD! It won’t play on any mobile device and newer desktops won’t have it included either.

Here’s an idea: design a real website that will work in all browsers.
