I keep getting this message when exporting an interactive PDF: "Shared file not available We're still getting this shared copy ready. Try refreshing after a few seconds."  (It never becomes available). I've updated Indesign, still getting this message

. No errors in the file.

The link is to the interactive PDF. I send the link as proofs.

Confusing: first you say you get the message when exporting, then you suggest you get this message when linking to the already exported file (in a browser)? So which is it?

This is what I do and what happens:

1) In Adobe Indesign, I click on export.

2) I choose Adobe PDF (interactive). I choose export. The PDF appears in the browser/in the cloud.

3) it says "file will be uploaded to cloud" and below it says to click on link. I click on the link and copy and paste it into an email (or wherever). (Also, it says "Your file is uploading but link can be shared immediately.)

4) When I test the link,  I get that message. If I wait and try later, I still get that message.

None of what you're saying makes sense. It sounds way more like Publish Online or Share for Review.

It's different than either of those things because you are making an interactive PDF, which is an option when you export.

A PDF export would not give you those alerts. PDFs are exported locally. There are no links to give to anyone unless you have some kind of third party service involved.

As Bob says, this makes no sense at all, an interactive pdf is just a file saved somewhere on your hd or server and the messages you get are not shown with such an export. If it is not Publish online (which is not a pdf!) it can indeed be Share for review.

So we can not help you before we know what you are actually doing (and that is not exporting to interactive pdf, so much is clear).

The best way: share some screenshots (or even a screen movie) so we know what you are talking about...

1) I choose Export; it  gives me the option to make an interactive PDF, I click "Save"

2) I click "Export" ]

3. It opens up as Adobe Acrobat file; it does save it as a PDF to my drive also. If I click on the link icon it gives me a link (SEE BELOW). It also says it's uploading to Adobe's cloud storage.

4. It then gives me a link that looks like this:

https://acrobat.adobe.com/link/review?uri=urn:aaid:scds:US:79b89422-423c-362d-af0c-bba341229b92

4. The problem happens when I get this message:

I've been following this process for a few years, and it's worked fine. But lately this has been happening and not sure why.

Ah...okay....the Adobe prompting you to save to the cloud. Just cancel it and be done with it.

Isn't this because Adobe stopped with cloud files? Not sure where it is saved, glancing at it a bit fast...

EDIT: ah, the file is opened automatically after export AND saved to the personal(!) Acrobat account.

Just stop this and simply share the exported pdf on your drive 😉

March, 2024. SAME THING happening with me. Experienced user.  Doing everything the right way. "We're still getting this shared copy ready. Try refreshing after a few seconds."

Just a glitch I suppose. Will wait it out.
