I've made an interactive infographic (X) that has several buttons in InDesign that opens as a PDF in Acrobat. When clicking on a button in this infographic it redirects the user to a page in a book (Y). But when clicking on the button, X closes and the Y opens. Now everytime the users want to go back to the X they have to open the whole infographic again instead of just switching tabs in Acrobat.
See pictures for visual description.
Is it possible to leave the infographic as well as the book open? If yes how? Please let me know, it will be presented at a conference and it would make the experience much better!
The interactivity in Interactive PDFs is limited to simple hyperlinks to other pages and external websites. Multistate buttons are not recommended as they will not work on smart phones and tablets. Have a look at InDesign's Publish Online facility which may offer the features you want to use.
