interactivity not working anymore in nested files?

Dear all, 

I assume that I'm missing out on something because this looks like an easy thing for Indesign to do but when i create interactive elements like buttons and mso's and save them to an .indd file and import this native .indd file in another .indd file, the interactive elements aren't working anymore when I view them in the EPUB.

Normal behavior. When you place that file all you get is static content.

Use the book feature or copy/paste everything if you need interactivity.

In addition to Bob's comment, what is to be the final output format for your interactive document?

actually, I'm looking to present an interactive wireframe (for a website) to my customer.

Build up out of multiple documents.

Then you are absolutely using the wrong tool. Try XD instead.

I know but the customer wants indd. files. Maybe I will try to switch her thoughts, thx !

I do more web design than anything these days and quite frankly, the back of a napkin is a viable tool for this. If you want something interactive though, XD is the right tool. But even that's overkill unless this site is going to be custom coded.
