I need to show users what the refresh icon looks like. Is there a font that I can use to type it into a sentence?

I'm not really aware of any universal 'refresh screen' icon. What platform and/or app are you referencing, here?
You might look at Symbola, which has more Unicode glyphs than any other single font I know. You could also do a screen capture of the icon (with your screen zoomed as much as possible), tune it up in Photoshop, and use it as a graphic icon rather than a font glyph.

There is two unicode glyphs which I think are what you want (see these two charts):
You can use the Glyphs panel to search by Unicode value
Here are some of the fonts which contain it: Apple Symbols, Arial Unicode MS, Cambria, Cambria Math, Lucida Sans Unicode, and many more.
If you have access to Creative Pro Magazine, you can view an article I wrote about how to find glyphs in fonts:

Most browsers use that as the "reload page" icon... which isn't quite the same thing. But it's probably what the OP is looking for.

If you do a Google search on "refresh screen icon", this is what you can see:

Why can't you use it in the text as an InLine graphics?
