Constrain proportions for width and height in InDesign 2025 (20.0) is broken. In previous versions of InDesign the constrain-status would stay the way you selected always, now you have to link it every time you scale something, it's quite annoying and adds an extra step to workflow.

Hi everyone / G_Man,
I’m happy to share that the issue with Constrain Proportions has been fixed! The fix has been implemented in InDesign 20.1.0.36, and the team has retested it on both Windows and Mac to ensure it’s working as expected.
Please update your InDesign to the next coming version once made available publicly (20.1) via the Creative Cloud app to apply the fix.
Thank you all for your patience and feedback throughout this process. If you encounter any further issues or have question
...Did you upgrade to 20.1? Mine is working correctly.
Hi Abhishek,
Thank you - this seems to have finally got fixed itself with an update a few months ago now.
Thank you for your patience. I wanted to let you know that we have already logged a bug regarding the Constrain Proportions issue in InDesign 2025. The product team is currently working on a fix, and I will provide you with updates as soon as I have more information.
If you have any further questions or need assistance in the meantime, feel free to reach out!
Best,
Abhishek Rao

Were you able to find the version 20.1? It doesn't appear in my "latest version" list.

Can you try logging out and then in?
What is your geographical location?

I tried logging out and logging in. I even chatted with an agent, and the reference number he gave me was ADB-38349028-J0W6.
It is still not available.
I am in Portage, IN, USA.

Problem solved!
I had to painstakingly uninstall every Adobe program from my computer, uninstall Creative Cloud (using an uninstaller that I had to download), and reinstall Creative Cloud (with an installer that I also had to download).
It took about 1.5 hours, but . . . I'm finally updated.

I _think_ you could have just uninstalled and reinstalled the Creative Cloud app. It should scan for apps after installation and show the updates.

It wouldn't let me just uninstall the Creative Cloud App. Believe me: I tried it. I would get an error message saying that other programs depend on it, and it can't be uninstalled.
Plus, this tutorial pretty much says the same thing: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

Congrats.
I'm on my phone so can't check - are downloads pointing to the CC Cleaner tool?

No. It was a specific tool (.exe file) for uninstalling Creative Cloud.

Strange...

It most likely was the AdobeCreativeCloudTool.exe. However this software can uninstall any Adobe software (if you select "All".

It wasn't.
It was creative_cloud_uninstallerwin.zip with an exe file of the same name inside.

So there are two different tools?

Apparently, it's a self-running app, unlike the CC Cleaner.

Hello @robert, @dAvE and @WhatDaDillio5,
Yes, we do have two tools available which can be used as per the given scenario. So, the Creative Cloud Uninstaller is specifically designed to remove the Creative Cloud desktop app while keeping other Adobe applications intact. We suggest using it when there is only need to uninstall Creative Cloud Desktop without affecting installed Adobe softwares.
Moreover, the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool is a more advanced tool that can be used for a complete removal of all Adobe apps from your system. It can be used when a standard uninstallation doesn’t work or when you want a complete cleanup before reinstalling Adobe software.
For most cases where users are facing update issues or need to reinstall Creative Cloud, the Creative Cloud Uninstaller should be enough. The Cleaner Tool is best when deeper troubleshooting is required.
Hope that helps clarify! Let me know if you have any further queries.

@WhatDaDillio5 You are correct. I believe this behavior must be reasonably recent since I've uninstalled just the CC app in the past. But it was a while ago.

Hi - no I've not had any issues since updating, except that Indesign is laggy as hell now.
I hate asking stupid questions - so here goes - have you definitley uninstalled previous versions?

I haven't done any yet. I'm not sure what to do first. Do I do the uninstall pervious version first or do I unintall and reinstall creative cloud? I'd like to keep some of the previous version for my job.
