Issue with some Adobe fonts

New Here ,
Jan 27, 2025 Jan 27, 2025

Hi everyone,

unfortunately I have been experiencing some significant slowdown with a couple of Adobe fonts on InDesign, that lately (on InDesign 2025) are even causing the app to stuck with no chance to end working.

The fonts involved are Canvas Inline and Crayonize. I have tried to disable any font preview already but with no luck.

Any idea on how to solve? I have to use both of these fonts...

I am using iOS Sequoia 15.2 on MacBook Pro M2 - 16 GB RAM.

Thank you in advance,

M.

Have you updated to the recently released InDesign 20.1?

Are you sure those are Adobe Fonts? If they are - try reinstalling.

Also, can you check your system if you don't have more than one copy installed?

Or one in the "Document Fonts" - next to your INDD file - and another copy installed in the System / Creative Cloud App?

Yes, they are both Adobe fonts and I already tried to delete and add them again.

No other copy of them in Document Fonts or installed on system.

Hi @AbnormalWorks,

I tried reproducing the issue with the mentioned fonts in InDesign version 20.1, and it works fine for me. Have you tested it on version 20.1? Which version of InDesign were you originally facing the issue on? After enabling the fonts, could you try disconnecting from the internet to see if there is any improvement? Is the issue specific to a particular file or does it occur with all files, including newly created ones? Where are the affected files located: local drive, remote location, external drive, or cloud? Have you tried clearing the font cache? If not, I suggest doing so. Reference: https://adobe.ly/40PJE2u

Let me know how it goes.
