Issues with Flashing and Unresponsive Dropdown Menus in InDesign for Font and Stroke Selection

When trying to select a font, (and also happens in stroke menu) the dropdown menu flashes on and off and won't let me select it (sometimes when the font dopdown finally works it seems to have a life of its own ...)

I agree with Robert. 

 

But there could be other reasons. Can you tell us more about your system: Please tell us what operating system (exactly) you're running. Please tell us (exactly) what InDesign version you're using.

Big Sur is not too old. Only 3 versions before the current system, Sonoma.

Thanks Steve, I did, and it does seem to be okay at this point, I guess time will tell ... its still does this weird thing, where the page just covers with a solid block of colour over my document, which I had hoped would be included in the fix

It is now considered vintage being 10 years old and that is as far as it will update now.
