Lab colour displaying differently in a single Indesign document

I am doing a layout using a LAB colour swatch and the colour is displaying differently on different pages of the same document. Other colour libraries – CMYK, RGB, Pantones – are fine, but this is totally weird.

Random thought: does it display differently depending on whether the page has transparency? Check the transparency blend space, it's going to need to be RGB for reasonably consistent display of Lab colour,
