Libraries have been a big problem since Quark XPress introduced them in the 80s. And InDesign libraries are no different—buggy, causing crashes, constantly corrupting. They would be incredibly useful in theory, but they can actually destroy a publication in practice. Does anyone know a way to employ InDesign libraries without danger?

Are you talking about InDesign Libaries (created with File > New > Libraries) or Creative Cloud Libararies. I recommend the latter, and have not had that problem over much usage in several years.

I agree with Steve Werner. I too have not had problems with CC Libraries, and highly recommend them.
