Hi

We have an indesign file and when it is exported to PDF, the link tags are all seen as <Sect> tags in the PDF. I know that we can edit role map in PDF to fix this problem. But what can be done in Indesign to prevent this problem in first place? Please share your thoughts.

Thanks

Laxmi

A PDF <Sect> tag is coming from an InDesign <Story> tag. Are your hyperlinks being applied to whole text frames rather than selected text?

No, only text highlighted is hyperlinked. In Acrobat role map window i see link mapped to Section automatically.

@Chad Chelius Could you kindly answer. I went through your linked in course for PDF Accessibility, but did not come across this piece of information.

Hyperlinks should not export as <Sect> tags. I've not seen this before. The only way I can think that you'd get that would be is if you are anchoring frames to the text of another frame. Can you share the file?
