How do you get InDesign to display image Descritpion metadata so that it's actually usable? Being able to copy/paste it would be ideal, but I'd settle for being able to even just see the entire Description without having to hover over it.
To write captions for photos, I need to see the Description information that the photographers provide.
But the Links panel truncates the Description, and it will not copy/paste. The full text of the description is only visible if you hover over the truncated Description line with your mouse. (This means that you have to basically memorize bits of it at a time, click over to the document and type (the spelling of a complex name, for example), hover again, click back again, type a bit again, hover again ....)

You can add the captions in Adobe Bridge and automatically insert the caption with the image. If others are writing the captions, they can use a free Adobe CC account and still use Bridge.

Also, If you click the link and choose Utilities> XMP File Info you’ll get the XMP file info for the link and from there you can copy the description field. You can also right-click the link and get the XMP info.
