Lonely Heading at the Bottom of Page

I'm composing a long document in InDesign with headings and body copy paragraph styles. Sometimes, the heading ends up alone at the bottom of a text frame, with its body copy on the next page. How can I get the Heading to automatically roll over to the next page with its body copy?

But beware - "[ ] KEEP WITH PREVIOUS" - have nothing to do with "KEEP WITH NEXT xxx LINES".

It looks like one depends on the other - but it's just bad UI.

I 100% thought the Keep with Text choice was affiliated with the Keep with Previous box. I really appreciate you taking the time to help me!

Hi @Outfauxed:

As per Robert, all titles/heads should be instructed to keep with the next paragraph so that they don't end up alone at the bottom of a page.

I recommend enabling Keep With Next: 2 lines in your title/heading paragraph styles. This is pretty standard—we normally want to have two lines of a multi-line paragraph together, though I do have one client who prefers the single line that Robert suggested.

You can read more about keep options if you scroll down to Control paragraph breaks using Keep Options on this page: https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/formatting-paragraphs.html.

It was just a quick screenshot - not a suggestion about the number of next lines to keep with.

Yes, choosing between 1 or 2 lines is just a preference.
