Hello, I have a problem with Indesign (18.1) on my Mac Book Pro (Ventura 13.1). I have downloaded several Adobe apps however the problems only show up when using Indesign. I can always open the program properly but the edit box always freezes after a few seconds no matter if I just put a stroke or insert an image. Sometimes the edit box also partially colors. I can click on the tools and settings outside the editing area, but I can't use them properly. To continue working I have to close and reopen the project. Nonetheless, it freezes again afterwards. I have already uninstalled the app as well as my Creative Cloud, reinstalled it and removed the default settings. The problems have not gone away.

Maybe someone can help me out.
Kind regards
Maibrit

Hi @user27948455hre0 ,

Sorry to hear about the trouble. Please share a few more details like:

  1. The hardware configuration of your Mac.
  2. Does this happen while working on a specific file or multiple files?
  3. Have you noticed any pattern with the issue or it randomly slows down?
  4. When this happens again, please share a screenshot of the InDesign process from the activity monitor.

We're here to help, just need more information.

Regards

Rishabh

I'd suggest restoring your InDesign preferences and caches. This often solves problems after an update. (Reinstalling an application doesn't do this.) Here's how:
