Description

MacOS14 has various issues, one of which is that it causes InDesign to flicker when trying to selected objects or text. Mostly the screen ends up being blank at the end of a drag operation. Technically one wonders if this is a bug in MacOS14 (solution wait while Apple sorts it out) or whether a background bug exists in InDesign that was latent, just needing to be reawaked by an OS now making different assumptions.

Why is this valuable to you?

The user does not need to guess what is being selected.

  1. Version of the app - InDesign 18.5
  2. Platform and OS version - MacBookPro (Silicon) MacOS14.0
  3. Basic steps to reproduce the problem - click and drag
  4. Expected result and actual result - expected a selection (and this does happen) but the screen flickers and ends up white, until such point as the mouseup command is received.

Discussed in multiple threads and a very well known issue. Turn off rulers, turn on GPU Performance or any combination to find out what works best. Or...roll back to Ventura.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
