Hello,

I recently updated all Adobe programs and am using Indesign most. After updating to Adobe creative suit 2022 and update in Mac OSX Monterey, the majority. of shortcuts with key+mouse drag are not working.

For example scaling picture in a frame. Normally I would use 'Shift+Mouse drag" or "Shift+Alt+Mouse Drag" That doesn't work any more now. Also the combo "Alt+Mouse Drag" to copy an item, is not working anymore. My workflow is really impacted with this so love to hear a fix.

How can this be fixed please?

Regards.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about the trouble you are facing. Generally, it happens due to third-party applications such as Chrome, antivirus interfering with the keyboard keys. In Safe Mode, your system starts to perform certain checks and prevent third-party software/ services from automatically loading or opening.

Also, you may try resetting the InDesign Preferences (https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/indesign-preferences-support-file-locations.html) and see if that helps to resolve the issu

Disclaimer: Please note that resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings, and InDesign will launch with default settings. You can also take a backup of the folders in case you want to. Location is mentioned in the article.

We will be looking forward to your response.

Thanks for your answer Anshul, youre right, the issue was due to a conflict with a 3rd party app. In this case it was most likely an app called ClickUp which took over the drag and select, resize and other handy smart keys.

After quitting that app, restarted my computer the issue was resolved.

Thanks for the reply and glad to know what to do in futre when this occours again.

Cheers,

Coen
