Moving an InDesign book and files to a new directory

I have a recurring problem: Whenever I move a book (indb) with its files (indd) to a new directory, the book still looks for the files in the old directory. This also affects cross-references. Is there any automatic way to update an indb file so that all its contents are recognized to be in the same directory at the indb itself?

If you package your book, the indb should relink the individual files to the ones in the (new) packaged folder. Is this not happening for you?

Bumping this. I realized I was working in the wrong directory because I hadn't attended to this issue. Is there any clean way to update the directory for an entire book?
