New Bug?: Buttons and Forms Panel not showing correct info

I'm trying to finalize a multi-document soon-to-be interactive PDF by ensuring all the buttons are named and described correctly, and all images include alt text in InDesign.

All of a sudden (just started this morning) the Buttons and Forms panel stopped showing the correct information when a button is selected. It just says it's a button with no action or name assigned.

I restarted my machine and it started working properly again for like 3 minutes, now it's doing the same thing... I need to finish this today—any fixes?

This is typical of corrupt preferences. Reset them.

On a separate note, be aware that interactive PDFs are nothing but a crapshoot and unless you can force people to use Acrobat or Reader on a desktop to view them you'll likely have a lot of complaints.

I super appreciate the quick response! So far it's working.

And yes, I have concerns re:PDF format, but unfortunately a website is a security concern and most folks would struggle with a ePub reader. I was hoping it would function ok in a web browser though. It's just hyperlinks to different places within the document, or URLs.

A website is a security concern but you want to be able to read the PDF in a browser?

You know this project better than I do, but that makes zero sense to me and with all the browsers and platforms out there, you might want to sacrifice a goat before you send this thing out.

Yup, they need an "offline" format. But I know after downloading a PDF and trying to open it a lot of people's default app will be their web browser. Tests have gone well so far but if needed we'll include instructions to open via reader. Clunky for sure, but better than nothing.

Thanks,
