No Icon by Indesign files

Since I installed indesign 2024 I don't see an icon with the file. I cannot open the file by double-clicking on it. The icon has been replaced by a white square.

This has been reported several times and is generally a result of losing the file association in your operating system. The easiest fix is to uninstall InDesign and then re-install it.

If that doesn't work, let us know.

Hi BobLevine, it didn't work, and I'm letting you know. I scoured all the older threads and tried the uninstall/reinstall, file association, open with, regedit, and nothing has worked for me.

InDesign 2024, Windows 10 Pro 22H2.

I am able to open InDesign files (through double-clicking and through the application), but the icon is a blank white rectangle.
