object styles: how clear overrides?

Hi

I've hundreds of anchored objects in my files, all with the same object style (named "sidebar") applied to. The text of the anchored objects takes anything from 1 to 5 lines, and its first line should be aligned with the anchor in the main text.

Now when preparing the object style (and the paragraph style) for the anchored object, the alignment worked perfectly. However, when applying the object style to the relevant text (using the script GREPtoAnchoredObject by Id-Extras), everything is fine except for the fact that the anchored object is placed too low, and has overrides.

How do I clear overrides in an object style? Right-clicking on the style name gives you various ways to do this, but none of these work. Neither does Find/Change the object style clear the overrides.

I'm at a loss ...

With the frame of the Object Style selected, you can click on the "Clear Attributes not Defined by Style" or the "Clear Overrides" buttons at the bottom of the Object Styles panel.

Nope, it's nothing to do with the script: InDesign bug. Anchored objects jump around a little for fun.

I've also did Export ... to IDML, and opened that file, but the object style overrides persist.

Despite my previous comment (which is true in some cases), the problem here seems simply that the anchored object settings are not right:

The anchored object reference point has been pinned to the vertical center of the anchored object. But if baselines are to align, clearly it needs to be pinned to the bottom corner of the anchored object.

And then there is no need for the clumsy workaround of a 9pt Y-offset, which will only work in single-lined frames, probably.

Fix that and all should be well!
