When working on charts, I insert the cursor, type the number "4", and the document crashes.

I use Font Explorer X Pro v 6.0.5

I have cleaned the System and App font caches.

Zapped the PRAM.

Save file to an .idml file and reopened and saved as .indd file.

Deleted page in question, and re-flowed the text.

What the?

I just did. Same thing is happening. I even Apple Time Machine'd back to my previous version of InDesign 2019. To start this complex chart from scratch is just too much for me. I'm getting too old for this.

BTW. What are these Crash Reports good for if not to pinpoint where the problem is?

I have always used a third party font application. Is there a better way?

If there’s an autoactivation plugin, disable it. If that fixes it, contact the plugin vendor.

I have converted to Chart to Text, and then back again. The problem has gone away so far. I am still doing some formatting, so we'll see.
