Hi
At my school in 2020 I was able to create a file for a book.
The book is to support people with health problems and the authors will not earn nothing.
The pandemics delaide everything.
How can we open now the file produced in 2020?
How can we convert it in a newer version?
Thanks. Regards.

Newer InDesign version can open any files created with an older version.

The conversion is done automatically when you open the file in a new version. I was able to open your file without any issues in 2023 version. So there is nothing to be done just open it save it and you are ready

Well, perhaps not nothing. Text engines change between versions and there is often a change in text flow when you start editing in a new version which can cause line endings to change and overset text to occur so you need to be very careful about checking.

Thanks @Peter Spier for adding your input. What I meant was it should open without anything done on the users part. The thing about text is valid and it would be applicable to any version change. Infact we have this issue with export to IDML as well. So very well put by you.
