I noticed that the little blue OpenType symbol at the bottom of a text frame doesn't show anymore in my InDesign CC 2019, although I have activated this feature in the InDesign Preferences > Advanced Type > "Show Adornment on Text Selection/Text Frame..." I find this a very helpful feature for choosing OpenType glyph alternates, how can I make it reappear again?

Have you updated to InDesign CC 2019.0.1 (update arrived in October)?

It shows for me on my Mac (macOS 10.14.1) shown below.

You could try restoring your InDesign preferences:

Set preferences in Adobe InDesign

Thanks a lot, this worked! 🙂

Yes, I already had the newest update version of CC 2019 but it actually seems to have been a problem with both Mac OS Mojave (which I now updated from 10.14 to 10.14.1) and the InDesign preferences (I removed the files from the InDesign Preferences and Caches in the Library folder as shown on the link you posted). The OpenType features are back again!
