Optimizing Photo's Indesign

Explorer ,
Jul 02, 2025 Jul 02, 2025

Hi all,

Recently I was working with Indesign to optimize images for a project and I was wondering if there's a

way to optimizing photo's in Indesign faster? This instead of converting each photo separately in photoshop.

Optimise them how? What are you changing?

For making edits to photos I'd do it in Photoshop and set it up as an action.

Indesign only Places the image and shows the image at it's Effective Resolution.

I wrote an article here - although not directly related it shows how it works basically.

Indesign is not a photo editor/optimiser. But if you tell us more what you're doing that would help point you in the right direction, InDesign or another method.
