Page numbering bug with proportional lining

Community Beginner ,
Aug 09, 2024 Aug 09, 2024

Hi everyone,I'm experiencing a strange bug (I think?) where the third digit in the page numbering does not 'follow' the type of numbers I have set (all numbers should be proportional lining, the last digit remains at the default setting). There are no GREP styles used, no character styles applied.

Has anyone else encountered this issue or a solution? The font is Syne.

Thanks in advance!

Same problem has been reported on this forum with notes. It was due to the paragraph composer who was set to “World ready composer”. Swicth it to “Adobe paragraph composer”.

What's the font?

Digits are like that in this font:

Yeah, missed that - but as per the screenshot - digits in this font are created this way.

No, there are different figure sets. The page numbering also shows that. It's the 3rd number that 'flips', all numbers work, including numbers used in the rest of the document (ie in the table of contents and in headers)

What if you untick "Contextual alternates"?

Also, just for testing - can you set the start page number to "123456789" - do other digits will be "wrong" as well?

Thanks for your suggestion. Unticking cont. alts does not do anything. Changing the page numbering gives this result:

So, it's from the 3rd onwards

To add extra info: changing the font solves the issue, but that's not a solution. My collegue said she also experienced the issue with Garamond. Not sure it's font specific or not...

OK, then how "123456"will look like?

Or even "567890".

Sorry, misread the previous message. Is including the 6 mandatory?
Anyway...

Don't think so - "6" is "normal".

Can you post screenshot of "567890"?

It looks like "proportional lining" option is ignored?
