When exporting an InDesign book to PDF, the process runs like always, but the resoultion is much too small. PDF export from the same ID book three months ago came out with proper resolution. I am working with ID 16.0 on a Windows PC and I used the same PDF joboption as before. The only workaround is exporting each single file from the book as a single PDF. Doing this, the resolution comes out properly but not when exporting the whole book or even a couple of files from the book. Has anybody an idea what goes wrong?

Why not patch to 16.4 just for good measure?

Hi Mike,
thanks for your proposal.
We are working in a team and somtimes together on the same documents. Therefore updates must be synchronised with all team members and sometimes it doesn't fit into the daily schedule ...
Nevertheless I tried the next versions on another PC and found the same effect with version 16.4 as well as 17.0.
Best regards
Birgit

Exporting a book and exporting individual files (whether to PDF or EPUB, and I think some of the other options as well) use different settings. It's possible to have five different export setups for five chapters and a yet different one for the book.
Since the system can export correctly at the chapter level, the problem lies with the settings for the book export. Completely clear the export settings by choosing one of the standard options (I suggest Press Quality), do not make any adjustments, and try again.

Hi NitroPress,
thanks for your proposal. I tried all options with all ID versions - the effect is still the same. Even after creating a new book, it's still the same. I almost get crazy on this since I have no idea what has been changed in the proramm or system or whatever might cause this beahviour.
Best regards
Birgit

Have you tried change the print quality in export?
Adobe pdf: either interactive if needed or print if that is what you need. Then choose quality you need on the next frame.?

Hi ,
yes, I tried the different job options - the defaults as well as my own options. And printing to PDF also doesn't work.
Thanks anyway!
