Hello,
I'm trying to find the best way to create a contact sheet order form. I've run a bunch of searches on the topic and haven't found a solution.
I'd like to be able to create a document template with placeholders for thumbnail/small images. Next to each placeholder, I'd like to create a drop down menu for print sizes. Next to that drop down I'd like another drop down with quantity amounts (1-10).
I'd like to be able to batch place varying numbers of images into the template, convert it to a PDF and send it to clients so that they can see the image and make their order selections - and then send it back to me.
I'd like the images to scale to fit the placeholders.
Ideally, I'd like the quantity of images (with corresponding drop down boxes) to be limited to the amount that I batch place into the template (so that there are not a bunch of empty drop down boxes next to empty spaces).
After exporting to PDF, I'd leave the template unsaved and ready for the next client.
Is this possible in InDesign? If so, is this the best tool for the job? If not, I'm open to recommendations.
Thanks for your help. If any of the above is unclear, please let me know.
I would never even consider this in InDesign. This would be best accomplished with some kind of web based order form integrated into an ecommerce website.
