Place image is not functioning correctly

Hi. When I select Place, then select an image and draw the box for image that should be placed proportionately, the image is then very very small within the box. Doesn't matter if it's a jpeg, png, PSD, etc., file. For instance I will draw the box to size up to 100%, release the cursor but the image always comes in at 8%. It was working fine this morning. Did I hit a key to change a setting? I deleted the preferences when I reopened InDesign but it didn't fix the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Louis

In that case, your default frame must have fitting options applied. Take a look at your Object Style menu, and check the options on the selected style.

Is it just one document, or does it happen with all of them.

If it's just one, try exporting the docuemnt as IDML, this will help if the document has minor corruption.

It's one document that I'm currently working on. I created a new document and the Place seems to be functioning fine! I'll try exporting the document as IDML as I'm thinking the document might be corrupted as you suggest.

I exported the document as an IDML file, opened it and tried the Place command but it didn't correct the problem.

Does it happen if you Place directly on the page? Don’t draw a box—with nothing selected, choose File>Place... and click once on a page.

Tried something different… drew a box, pressed Command D, selected my image and it imported same problem. If I drew a box, highlighted it and selected the option of "clear frame fitting options" then imported the image, it came in at 100%. Frustrating!!

I checked the Object/Frame Fitting Options and there was a negative crop amount applied to the Bottom box. Made all crop amounts equal to 0, set the content fitting to propotionately and it now works! Not sure how the negative amount got there but it's now working as before. Thank you SJRiegel!
