I'm currently designing a brochure and in that brochure I have an image that is gradually fading from 15% to 0%.
The image is on top of a rectangle with a color value of K=90.
The image covers this rectangle only partially (it cuts off at 0%).
When printing this file (digital print), there is an abrupt transition between the image at 0% and the background rectangle.
How can I make sure the transition on print is smooth?
Thanks in advance!
You do it in Photoshop.
Some trsnsparency effects in InDesign have a noise field.

Make the image little bit larger to have a wider area of 0 which is helping sometimes.
Add noise (1–3%) to the gradient to avoid banding as the values are not so high in your case.

Thank you for your reply.
How do I add noise to the gradient in InDesign? I know it's possible in Illustrator but I don't see that option in InDesign.
