When placing a PDF in indesign our file is never 100% sometimes larger, sometimes smaller. We used to not have this problem when placing our files and they were always 100%.

Mac: Big Sur version 11.4
Indesign: 2021

Check how the frame fitting options are set by default.

For example in

Preferences > General

Content-Aware Fit

If Content-Aware Fit is enabled, disable it.

Are you placing in already prepared graphic frames on the page?

Also check the frame fitting options of the frames.

Thanks for your response!

That's what we thought too but that's not the problem.... My colleagues with the same Indesign and settings do not suffer from this. Could it be that it is due to Apple Big Sur? My colleagues are still working with older operating systems.

We can manually set it to 100% but it is annoying to have to check your image every time if they are full size.

Hi Bart,

could you make a sample document available where this happens?

Just one page with one graphic frame if you place in pre-made graphic frames.

Put it on Dropbox or a similar service and post the download link.

If you place without a frame ready on the page:

Could you show the Object Styles panel in the moment the graphic is still loaded to the place gun and not fully placed?

Thanks,
Uwe Laubender
