Problems with inDesign v.14.0.1

New Here ,

Good day!

I use Adobe InDesign CC 2019, v. 14.0.1 x64

When working, the program constantly freezes, almost every operation with a document causes the program to stop from 1 to 30 seconds; the longer the document, the longer the delay.

How to fix application crashes?

When working in Adobe InDesign CC 2014, everything works correctly.

  • Operating System(Exact version of MAC/Windows)
  • Crash Report/Event Viewer log
  • Does it give any error code? If yes, please share the screenshot.

You can sumbit crash reports here Submit a crash report for InDesign

If it's Windows - I had a similar issue and resolved it by updating the BIOS and updating the graphic drivers (they hadn't been updated at all) once I updated these it worked fine.

Other solutions:

Sometimes it's down to preferences for the application - can you try resetting your preferences?

Troubleshooting 101: Replace, or "trash" your InDesign preferences [2009 Outdated & Locked]

And if you're still having trouble try a clean install - Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems

Indesign does not crash and does not give an error.

He has been working on teams for a long time.

The links suggest a video of his work:

InDesign 14.01 x64

Windows 10 Pro version 1803 build 17134.471

Dell Latitude E6540 Intel Core i7 8GB RAM

Everything was working fine until I restarted this morning to finish a Wacom Driver update for my Cintiq 13HD pen tablet.

InDesign opened a 1 page file with maybe 100 words and a gray rectangle and one small vector graphic. The program was frozen for a very long time. I restarted ID (and also the computer) mutliple times. When I left ID alone for a few minutes in order to come here, the program became responsive again.

I don't know if this had anything to do with opening a file that was created in ID 13.something and it's just taking a really long time to convert to the new system, but it wasn't doing this with any of the dozens of other files I've converted this week. If this is the issue, a progress bar would really alleviate your user's stress levels.

I'm just happy I can now create an invoice for a client.

Think I'm having a similar issue. A month or so back InDesign was noticeably lagging a good 1-2 seconds any time I used to the type tool to move my cursor into a text box.

This issue feels very similar although no longer isolated to only the text tool. It seems to happen intermittently, maybe 1 out of every 2-3 actions results in a subtle freeze, beachball delay for a few seconds. Almost as though I'm working in a very system intensive file, but that is not the case.

I'm in High Sierra (10.13.6). No crash reports. This issue happens regardless of whether I have any other apps open. Restarting seems to help for a little while- but throughout my work day I'm restarting 2-3 times out of frustration.
