Hello! I have an issue with a publish online document. There are a few download buttons connected to a web link that work perfectly on Safari Browser but on Google Chrome instead of downloading an empty 'about:blank' page appears.

Please check the link:

Thanks!

You'll probably need to supply more info. Such as what buttons specifically, as well as how they are set up in InDesign?

Hello! Thank you for responding to my post!

When you click on the RESOURCES  button on the link below there are a few other buttons that are supposed to download Word files that are on the link. The download links work perfectly on Safari but not on Google Chrome.

The response from Adobe Support was that there is a Google compatibility issue on the link but the link works when it is not clicked from the published online document. The buttons were set up in InDesign as URL buttons:

The download file link is the one below that works when it is not clicked from the publish online link:

I hope this makes more sense.

I can confirm that the only browser where the download links work from within the published InDesign document is Safari (which I personally never use except for occasional testing).

Also, just like you reported, the download links work normally in other browsers when used outside the published InDesign document.

Why it happens, I don't know, unfortunately.

I noticed that the download links point to a document inside a WordPres site structure (which normally shouldn't be a problem). As a test, try to use a link to a different location (whether on your web domain or another one). Will it make a difference?

Thank you for your reply!

I tried uploading the file on my domain in cPanel and it has the same result...

I also tried using the hyperlink feature instead of Go to URL but still the same

My developer checked the HTML code and it looks like there is something that disable the link there.

I hope this information helps.

Best
