Hi guys,

I have 2 adobe accounts (both mine) how can I transfer the publised files I can see in the Published Online Dashboard to the other account. I've been running in circles with this issue for 2 months now and after over 20 very frustrated phone calls with Adobe and I don't even know how many chats I'm still on square one, with no answer and incredibly frustrated. Any help please?

I'm sorry to say there is no way, AFAIK, to "transfer" published documents between acccounts. You have to re-publish the ID files to whichever account you want them associated with. I'm sorry I don't have a magic solution. It would be helpful if you could vote or add comment to this as a feature request: https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601021-adobe-indesign-feature-requests/suggestions/44190591-enable-link-transfer-of-publish-online-projects

It's so ridiculous that is something that is not possible to do, for two very long intense months I've been telling this to the support team I was communicating on and they kept sending me how to transfer assets and treating me like an idiot.

They need to sort this out, and would be awesome if they learn to listen too.

Thanks for replying.

I agree it would be a good feature, so be sure to fill out the user voice requests. That's what Adobe really looks at. But, for now, can't you simply re-upload it?

Thanks, yes already filled it up.

Sadly it's heaps of them and those links are in use so if I republish them will create a different link, so that is not viable.

  1. What is very annoying is that this was created when Enterprise came along, and my Teams account changed to Business and magically a new individual account was created in september this year, but somehow it has my published files since december 2019, and to keep this ccount I need to pay, aside of already paying my business account that has an annual subscription and is emapty with no published files in it. One would think this can't be that difficult to sort out, but apparently it is. No such luck either of changing the payment from one account to the other. Nuts. And the problem they've got me in is massive, cause I can't loose those links.

That is not good to hear. I suppose if you could drop the one account with no published files, you would. I don't know what can be done, wish I had a better answer. Not good.

Thanks for your reply, and agree! I've been trying but it's been going in a non-stop loop between business account billings, individual account billings and InDesign specialist that keep sending me the link to download assets, that it is not what I was ever after no matter how many times I told them, I sent links to them or screenshots.

At least now I'm sure that I was right and it is impossible, as I've been telling them, to move those published files. It took me some time for them to understand what I was meaning with InDesign Online Published files, they even logged in to my computer remote so I could show them as they were blank.

Next battle will be with just billings department, so they can sort out the accounts they badly mixed up.

Not a good option by any means, but you could:

  • Re-publish the files to the other account
  • Get the new link
  • Update the old layout to a single page with a hyperlink to the new location. (You could ask the customers to make a note of the new link. New users would only be given the new link.)
