I've made a QR Code business card in InDesign and I was wanting to know would the business card details be stored anywhere online or accessible by a 3rd party? Is the information stored anywhere? Basically how does it work as this is new to me.

Many thanks in advance

QR Codes are static pieces of information. There's nothing stored anywhere.

Correct, but I think I understand the OP's question. Many if not most of the online QR code generators do indeed scrape data from each use, or embed tracking links in link codes, and so forth. I wouldn't use a third-party online generator under any circumstances. It's a wise question to ask and about time designers etc. became aware of how risky the "free" services are.

But the answer is "No." InDesign's generator is wholly self contained, does not export the data to any remote location even for the conversion process, and does not store it anywhere other than in the code itself.

See this for all the details you could want. 🙂
