Can someone please help me with this issue? I have bee nscouring the internet and not finding anything that works.

If I have an image that is a horizontal rectangle, like, say, 7 x 5, and I need that image to be 5 x 7 for a poetry book cover, how the heck do get it to 5 x 7 without blowing up the image and cropping out the sides?

see attached image.

I want this image the to show the whole tree in 5 x 7

Basically, you have two choices for this type of image:

  • Distort it, or
  • Blow up and crop.

I'm not sure there are options other than this:

Screen Shot 2021-06-10 at 9.58.15 PM.pngScreen Shot 2021-06-10 at 9.58.39 PM.png

The first one is around 164% both X and Y, but the sides are cut off. The other is around 73% width and the same 164% height. If you like one, go with it. If something else can be done, I'm not sure what it is, but maybe someone has another idea.

Please, don't distort the image unless it's abstract.

There's no way around having to crop part of it, unless you add color blocks to "letterbox" it.
