Reusing interactive buttons that operate frame visibility

I have a page with 5 different sets of interactive buttons that open and close frames on that page. I want to copy and reuse that page with modification for the other pages.

Will the modified pages be indpendent of the source pages? For example, when I click Button 1 on Page 1 will Button 1 on Page 22 also be activated. On their own these buttons look fine. I am not able to tell what is happening on the other pages.

I also have another similar document that was successfully created using DataMerge but I am not sure how the corresponding buttons on different pages will behave.

I want to avoid managing and creating interactions for hundreds of buttons if possible.

Buttons only function on the spread they are located on.

Yes, as Bob says, button actions only work on the current page/spread.

But I may be misunderstanding something. You want the buttons on Page 1 to be independent of Page 22, don't you?

One other thing to mention: if you have interactivity that involves the Timing panel, that will often get re-ordered when copying/pasting to a new page.

Diane and Bob: Thanks for responding. I am set because I want the buttons on the spreads to be independent. I saw the posts on timing issues but I don't use timing. Just clicks to operate Buttons and visibility changes.

You can put button shapes (not multi-state) on a Master Page (for a single page continuous PDF) that indicates Previous Page / Next page and (say go to) Contents and these will appear on all pages throughout the document (apart from those pages you don't want them to appear on).
