revert doesn´t show in the File menu when following steps in a tutorial

Hi

I have resized both the content and page size of a document and now I want to revert the process in the FILE menu by choosing the REVERT option 

but it doesn´t work. I am following the steps in the indesign tutorial.

Could anyone explain why this feature isn´t working?

Hi Ignacio,

to make File > Revert to work for you, your document must be saved at least one time.

Right after I resized the content to the new page size in the Adjust Layout dialog box I clicked on Save or save as?  It gives me the option to create a new file if I choose any of these two options. Do I have to create a new file with a different name? But still I can´t choose the revert option. Why?

Revert is also not available immediately after you saved a document with a simple Save or a Save As.

It is available if some changes are not saved. And you'll revert to the last saved version of your document.

Right, so encapsulating what you've posted, along with the info Ewe offered:

1. Start new document.
2. Save As... [give the file a name, choose a location, click Save]
3. Add content.
4. Save.
5. Change content, page size, etc.
6. Revert [to state saved in step 4]

The Revert command just returns the document to the most recent Save. So, directly after Step 1, it's not available because there's been no Save. Directly after step 4, it's not available because nothing has been changed since the most recent Save.
