Anyone have any idea why this same exact grayscale image looks washed out when I paste it into a new document?
The colour profile settings are the same on both documents.
I'm really at a loss as to what is going on here.
Any help much appreciated, thank you.

Is this for print output? For a print preview turn on Overprint Preview in both document’s.

Thanks yes print. But this still doesn't explain why the image looks different on both documents.
They look the same with Overprint Preview turned on though.
Maybe this is just a simple glitch, since these files were initially created with CS3 and now in CC I am creating newly modified print files from them?

Also, if there is any transparent object on the spread, the Transparency Blend Space is used for the preview, which is what’s happening in your case—don’t think that’s mentioned in the thread I posted.
