Saving inDesign book file to a Windows 2012 server

We have an issue where when a user has a book file along with page files ALL stored on the Windows 2012 server and then goes to try to save the file, the user gets disconnected from the server and the file never saves.

The workaround is for the user to save the book file locally with all page files out on the server.
In this configuration the book and all page files save just fine.

The user is using MAC OS Catalina and inDesign 16.4 and again the server is a Windows 2012 file server

Thanks!

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about this. Do you see this behavior with the InDesign app or with this specific file only? Are you able to save files on the server from other Adobe apps? Have you checked if the user has permission to write the file?

This information would help us assist you accordingly. Looking forward to your response.

Regards,

Ashutosh

Hello Ashutosh, the problem is only happening with inDesign book files.
All other apps work just fine and the user has full permissions to the file
server.
Also, the user was able to save book files to the server in the past so we
believe an inDesign update
may have caused the issue. Just curious if anyone else is having this
issue. Thx
