Hi,
In previous versions of indesign (using 17.0.1 now) when saving a new file, the inputfield of the filename was already selected. But now it isn't anymore. Has anyone has the same problem and find it also very annoying? Any trick to force this? (So used of saving and typing without viewing the screen that I keep typing without anything entering the field... 😞 ).

What do you have? Mac/Pc? Please write down your technical details.
By the way I have no problem with the saving-panel, the inputfield of the filename is selected.
You can try to reboot your computer.
Or you can try this: Restore all preferences and default settings

I'm using mac. Os Monterey. But I have the same problem on my home computer as my work computer (different locations).

What about my other two tips?
Have you tried reinstalling indesign?

I suppose if it is on the two different systems, then reinstalling won't help much, so I'd rather try something else...

Can of course be a bug. I use BigSur and I have no problem...

Hm. I think this is an issue, perhaps a bug, with InDesign 2022 on MacOS Monterey only.
I see no issues on Windows 10 with this.
Best report the bug at Adobe InDesign UserVoice:

There have been all kinds of issues with Creative Suite, the last many versions of Mac OS & the finder dialogue box. It may be up to Adobe to try and fix, but the Mac OS is the one that broke it. Super annoying.
