Share for Review Comments Not Showing in InDesign

New Here ,

Share for Review is not working as it usally does.

I have a document for a magazine I always work from. I can still share for review. But the comments will not show up under the ewview window. The one im sharing with can use the link that I send as usual. And then send me the link back once hes done.

But this means I have to go to the link online and swap between a webpage and my indesign, which is a real pain in the ass when you are working on a 100 page magazine.

Any suggestions as why this might happen?

Thanks!

So it's a recent problem?

What platform, OS & InDesign versions?

Have you updated InDesign recently?

Can you downgrade to 19.4 - or whatever version you've had installed before?

Or reset preferences first.

Hi @MHellgren,

I'm sorry you're having trouble with the Share for Review feature—especially when working on a large project like a 100-page magazine. I can imagine how frustrating it must be to switch between InDesign and the webpage to see the comments.

Could you please tell us if the issue is specific to this one file or if you have noticed it with other projects?

In the meantime, you might find this article helpful: Learn how to share InDesign documents for review (adobe.com)

As our expert Robert has suggested, resetting preferences also resolves most of the issues. Reference article: Set preferences in Adobe InDesign

Looking forward to your response.

Thank you,

Abhishek Rao

Thanks will look it through.
It is strange, it would be to big to work on all pages in one file obv. So it is devided into 7 parts. And 2 out of those 7 worked. The last one I worked on now I did the sharing in a other way and that worked.

I will play around a bit and see if I can find a sulution.

I am having a similar problem.

Indesign 20.1

My client wants to use the Adobe Cloud link for their team to comment on.

I did a test Share for review Link and sent it to myself. Then did a bunch of test markups including pin drops, circling photos, strikethrough and replacement text etc.

In my Indesign file when I open the Window>Comments>Review I do not see any of the pin drops, the circles, or where the changes are. The only thing that seems to be working is if I click on a comment where I highlighted text, it will go to that page and highlight it. But I made a comment about one of several photos on a page with a pin drop and I have no idea which photo the comment is referring to - nor any markup red "Xs" as a test for how this client likes to cross out things. Those dont show up at all either.

For more info - If I go back to my email and click on the link so I access the Cloud version of the document, I CAN see all the markups, pins, etc. Is this how it is supposed to work? I thought I would be able to see the comments right in Indesign rather than have a separate window open with the cloud link there.
