Dear all,

We are trying with my colleagues to share documents but the access is limited to a pdf document whereas we are searching for a way to work hand by hand in the same document.

What would be your advice? Thanks for your support !

Bonjour

Il est impossible de travailler à plusieurs sur le même document avec InDesign. S'il s'agit de faire des corrections dans le texte, la solution est d'utiliser InCopy. Il faut savoir qu'InCopy ne permet pas de faire des modifications de mise en page.

InCopy is indeed the answer here if, and only if, layout changes are not needed. If you have to work on the InDesign file itself then it's best to break it into sections and assign those files to various designers.

Dropbox and OneDrive are great ways to share these documents or for InCopy workflows but the big caveat is that InDesign lock files do not sync so communication among users is important.

It depends on what kind of work you mean:

1) long text,

2) short stories / articles,

If 1) - then as already suggested - either InCopy or splitting into separate INDD documents.

If 2) - depends on the size of those articles - page or spread - you could create spearate INDD documents and then place them as objects on pages - but I would suggest exporting PDF(s) from this/those separate INDD file(s) and placing it/them instead.
