I have a design department publishing three monthly magazines of various pages and would like to share the larger one with a remote designer. Does InDesign offer an option whereby two designers can work remotely on the same document using agreed fonts and style pallets, etc?

"…two designers can work remotely on the same document"
Hi Roger,
not exactly. It is possible to share files and work on shared files "simultaniously" with e.g. Dropbox where both of you work inside a packaged folder on the same shared Dropbox folder. But I would never recommend this, because you will create two different files when both of you try to open, work and save the same InDesign document at the same time. That will lead to chaos in your workflow…
Better use a packaged InDesign book file in a shared Dropbox folder with several InDesign documents where in a very disciplined way ( ! ) you both work on different documents for different sections of the magazine.

Hi @Roger24107124cssy , your CC subscription offers a cloud sync’ing feature, which is similar to other cloud sync’ing services. If you move the magazine and its assets into your user>Creative Cloud Files folder it will automatically sync to your cloud account. When the sync’ing is finished, you can right-click the magazine folder, and choose View On Website. From the web page you’ll have the option to invite your designer to also sync.
A sync’d collaboration needs clear communication, so that the collaborators don’t simultaneously edit the same layout. See this thread for more info:

Another work around is placing indesign files into another master indesign file as linked items. The individuals can work on the individual docs and then the master can be updated when they're done. Or should I say, parent document. 😉
