On an InDesign file? On a PDF file? Usually, cropmarks are automatically created when the file is exported to PDF and do not exist in the InDesign file.

*I have pdf-files with crop marks and when I open the files in Indesign the
crop marks are there and I want to get rid of them so that I can collect my
pdf-files in one pdf-file ready for printing. How do I do that?*

Try showing the import options when placing the PDF. Choose Crop to Crop or Trim rather than media.

Not all PDFs have crop or trim boxes defined, however, so you may need to manually crop the placed PDF just as you would any other image.

If you do not want to crop the placed PDF page and you still want to get rid of the crop marks you have to open the PDF in Acrobat Pro and remove the crop marks there.

Two options when you switch to category Print Production:

[ 1 ] Edit Object, select the crop marks and delete them with the command in the context menu.

[ 2 ] Preflight, select Acrobat Pro DC 2015 Profiles and run the following single fix on the document:

Page contents > Remove printer marks and other objects outside BleedBox

Never noticed that fixup before. Does it crop the page after removing the marks?

No. It should just remove elements outside the bleed box.

Well, if the crop marks touching the bleed box, that could happen, they would not be removed.

Hmmmm,

If the media size isn't reduced at the same time as marks are removed I'm not sure I see a whole lot of value there.
