The font used here is "Microsoft Yahei" which is a Simplified Chinese font. So, that mark (a typographer's single right quote, no idea what that's called in French) is, I suspect, a fullwidth apostrophe. It's the width of a single Chinese character.
Oddly enough, it looks like Yahei doesn't have a normal-width right single quote. You could rekey it with an apostrophe; it wouldn't point in the direction of the d but it wouldn't be fullwidth, either. Or you could set just that glyph in a different font, or you could choose a different sans-serif font for your layout entirely, one that would actually have a full complement of French-appropriate punctuation. Or, you could play it fast & dirty, and just kern it into place manually; it's only a kerning value of -600 š
