Can you spellcheck one layer (the visible layer) ONLY in a multi-layer InDesign file?
My company has multiple markets we serve (education, government, hospitality, etc.). When pursuing a particular project, the resume will only display the current market (other layers are not visible). The resume is one page in a large proposal document. I need to spellcheck to ensure obviously no errors.
When running spell check, it proceeds to search any and all layers within the entire large proposal document, including the hidden market layers. This makes the spellchecking task so much longer, as it highlights "nothing" visible on other layers.
Thank you in advance!

Hidden layers will still be spellchecked. If suspected mispelled words are found and are actually correct, you could add them to a dictionary, so future checks won't flag these words.

Thank you, @Jeffrey_Smith! I will try your suggestion. We have about 40 employee resumes and each have ten market layers. Appreciate you taking the time. Have a great Day. All the best. Kaia

In regard to Jeffrey's suggestion to add certain words to a custom dictionary please note that any additions or subtractions to a user dictionary will only be applied to the computer on which the addition or subtraction is made. You can, however, create a custom dictionary that can be exported from one computer to be then imported into any other computer within your working environment. This sharing should be done once the dictionary's contents has been "locked" as any future changes will need to be exported and imported all over again.

Or merge the user dictionary into the document under preferences.
