I currently have a document which uses an automatic table of contents, it recognises text styles on pages. The document is often re-used and is adjusted for certain tasks, for example some pages are hidden if they are not needed (but not deleted in-case we need them), and obviously we wouldn't want these pages included in the contents list.
However the table of contents still seems to be picking up these hidden pages, filling up the contents with pages which aren't in the actually document.
There is already an option for 'hidden layers'.
Could anyone help?

Looks like you would need to move everything on Hidden Spreads to copies of the layers - and make those layers invisible.
Unfortunately, someone at Adobe forgot to treat hidden spreads the same as hidden layers...
