Hi there,

I have created a table of contents with "Sort Entires in Alphabetical Order" checked. However, for some reason some of the names starting with C are not alphabetizing right. Any reason this could be happening?

Don't know if this applies to alphabetical sorting, but ID reads a page top-to-bottom and then left-to-right for pulling in TOC entries. This can cause problems if headings are in frames not flush to the left of the page, for example. Just out of curiosity, if you create a TOC that is not alphabetical, just a a test, do the entries appear in the order expected, as they are in the document?

Hi Diana,

Thanks for the reply. If I removed the alphabetical then the order was correct (by page order). The alphabetical also worked if I removed the Level 2 items.

The strangest thing is I deleted the first page that was out of order, and then added it back in at the end of the document and now everything is sorting correctly.
