Text brakes up, WYS is not WYG

Hi fellow Indesigners,

As you can see in the screenshots, the text is distorted (crumpled) and when browsing through pages, the text displayed sometimes is not what it should be. Adding a hard return and deleting it again causes the text to reflow (rebuilt) and become okay. But i cannot trust text anymore. Anyone else having this issue? Imac 2020, 27 inch, Monterey 12.3.1, Indesign 17.2.1, 8 gb memory, 3,3 ghz 6-core intel core i5.

Thanks in advance

Peter

Thanks for trying the steps. It seems like you went into the system library instead of the user library. The User Library folder is hidden.

Note: Location starting with this "~" sign indicates the User Library, which is hidden. So, you need to copy & paste the exact path in spotlight search or from Finder Menu > Go > Go to Folder > Paste the location in the dialog box like this:

HARSHIKA_VERMA_0-1654204177202.png

  • ~/Library/Caches
    ~/Library/Preferences
  • Rename Adobe InDesign to Adobe InDesign.old and launch InDesign from the Creative Cloud app
  • Rename the CEP folder to CEP.old from the following location:
     /Library/Application Support/Adobe
  • If that doesn't help, rename the UXP folder to UXP.old from the following locations:
     /Library/Application Support/Adobe
    ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe
  • If that doesn't help either, uninstall the application using the CC Cleaner tool and reinstall it from the Creative Cloud Desktop app.

Let us know if that helps. We'll try our best to help.

Thanks

Harshika
